Our History
The Atlanta Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen was incorporated in Atlanta in August 1976. We are an education and community service organization dedicated to maintaining the traditions of the Tuskegee Airmen and preserving the legacy of the first generation of African American military aviators of the Second World War. The Atlanta Chapter TAI reflects our culture and our inter-generational values. Our membership includes men and women of different races, ages, including military and civilian, veterans and non-veterans.
One of our goals is to perpetuate the activities and achievements of those Americans who shared in the aspirations and frustrations of pioneering men and women in the Tuskegee Airmen Experience and United States Army Air Corps/United States Air Force. We also strive to actively inspire and support minority youth to outstanding achievement and leadership in our global society.
Our initiatives are for our community outreach, our youth and youth programs, and our educational fund. We collaborate with corporations and organizations to promote careers in aviation. The Atlanta Chapter has accepted the challenge to continue the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen.
